This place is an institution; it’s not a bar. It’s a staple in my late father’s life and his friends swear this is the best bar in the world. I love it here.

The more I visit the more I lover Resi's. We went on Friday which was the first day of their new cook. The menu was limited to schnitzel and brats but to be honest I don't think they need more than that! The schnitzel was the perfect pairing with a few 0.5L of great German beer. Can't wait for the next time!

First time here and placed a take out order of two schnitzel dinners. The food was excellent and the service was great. We checked out and tried several of their German beers while we waited for our order. Would definitely return again.

This has been our go-to place for delicious German beer and wurst-especially in the summer when their patio is open. The small space is spacious so you do not feel cramped. The inside hasn’t changed and that just adds to the charm of a neighborhood bar where you can hang. The servers are friendly and accommodating. The food is superb. The menu offers a good variety of German food. Starting with the salad that is dressed with the best tasting vinaigrette ever. You can get just about every kind of wurst you’d want. The schnitzels are freshly prepared and tasty. The goulash soup is always a hearty choice especially when Chicago winters arrive.

just came from the Octoberfest at Saint Alfonso's they didn't have any German beer ??? so we wound up here and had a great time good beer and the food was fantastic. bartender was very friendly took good care of us. Waitress didn't seem like she was having very much fun working, but didn't spoil our time. Update 10-2-24 Heidi and mike are the best.

This is a hidden gem. They have some of the best German food in Chicago and an amazing German draught beer selection. I like it even more because you get this all in the unlikely setting of an old school bar. They also have a lovely beer garden in the Summer.

Great, authentic German food and amazing beer selection. I've been here a couple of times and only have positive things to say. There's a wonderful beer garden out back, so get there while it's warm! I'm not sure if it's noted elsewhere, but the kitchen closes around 10:30pm, so keep that in mind if you're trying to get your Schnitzel on.

Awesome beer selection, great food, and kind staff. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend the chili Sheboygan.

Dam I've been here dozens of times over the years. I can't believe I never wrote a review for Resi's Bierstube before. Resi's is an old world German pub w/good beer & food. When I was going to UIC I use to come here w/my roommate every once in a while to partake in libations. The former owner use to sit at the bar & drink himself into oblivion often passing out at the bar while the German umm paa music was playing. As soon as he was passed out the kid who I assumed was the son would come in & put Elvis Presley songs on. Resi's Bierstube is an old world German pub w/good beer & food & many drunken memories. Over the years I have been here many times. Cool place to come in & relax & have a few good beers & food

Loved this place. Bartender was so sweet and attentive even though we were sitting in the corner and there was a large group at the bar. Food was delicious--we got a soft pretzel, Wiener schnitzel, and a brat combo. Delicious beers. Highly recommend and plan to go back
